noun · skydiving · plural: a load of manchildren
- A licensed skydiver whose gear is worth more than their car — and it's not close. "The manchild spent rent on a new canopy. The canopy lives indoors. He does not."
- One who plans a boogie every year and attends only the bonfire portion. "Seven consecutive postponements — a true manchild never jumps to conclusions, or from planes."
- informal. Anyone who has said "one more jump" and meant four. "Sunset load? The manchild was already on the plane."
- Despite all of the above — one of the best humans you will ever meet. "The manchild lent me his rig, packed my main, drove four hours for my first jump, and wouldn't take gas money."
Usage note: Calling someone a manchild at a dropzone is a compliment of the highest order. First to lend gear, last to leave the bonfire, always good for one more load. If you have one in your life, keep them. Hydrated, ideally.
